Benefits of Elderberry for Kids

If you're concerned about your child's immune system or want to do your part in protecting them during the Covid-19 pandemic we are currently in; chances are you have researched about or come across Elderberry and its benefits on your child's health.

What is Elderberry?

Elderberry is obtained from the black-coloured berries of a tree originating from Europe. While there has been no clinical research backing Elderberry's powers, people have been trusting it and using it as a natural remedy for centuries. It is used to fight off viruses and colds and boost immunity. Elderberry includes various vitamins, including Vitamin C, fibre, and antioxidants.

Recently we've seen a spike in interest in this smart berry due to the apparent health concerns worldwide. Additionally, while antibiotics can treat bacterial infections, they are not useful for treating viral infections like the flu or colds. And as parents, we want to ensure our children's immune system is supported as much as possible to avoid horrible colds or more dangerous viruses.

Several studies looked at the effects of Elderberry. They confirmed that taking Elderberry during influenza lessened its symptoms and shortened the virus's duration.

Elderberry is offered to children in various forms. However, the most popular is syrup or so-called "gummies". Childlife Essentials introduced Elderberry SoftMelts at the end of 2020 when a massive demand for this product arose among families using Childlife products for their children.

Our SoftMelts are not your usual "gummies". They are individually packaged in blister cards, each maintaining its moisture, unlike a traditional bottle of gummies which tends to dry out over time. Please note it is advised to speak to your doctor before giving Elderberry to your child.
